Ghost Stories October 2022
During October half-term we got inspired by Halloween! Collective spent two days exploring ghost stories at Sutton House. We worked on creating spooky atmospheres and creating tension. We created our own ghost story and shared it with friends and family at the end of the second day.
Limitless
Hackney Shed and Hackney Empire collaborate for our Summer Project “Limitless”. Focusing on young people with SEND/neurodivergent but open to anyone who is passionate about collaborating with others. Using music, theatre, dance and design young people created an original play performed at Hackney Empire.

Devised, performed and directed by our Young Company with participants from our half term filmmaking project (2022), this short film playfully explores classic horror themes. Shot on location at BSix College and Abney Park Cemetery.

Welcome to Corona-nation Street!
Since soap operas were on hold during the pandemic, Hackney Shed created their very own this summer.
Each week we recorded and released episodes online for people to follow. Who stole Mr Olenko’s tabby cat? Is the new pharmacist actually an undercover spy? And why on earth does Mrs Johnson at number 54 have all that loo roll??

Hackney Shed Collective Summer Project
Our Collective group is designed for young people aged 14 - 25, with a focus on those with SEND and/or neurodiversities such as autism.
We delivered a summer project in collaboration with Hackney Empire as part of the Discover Young Hackney Festival 2020.
Young people worked with the Hackney Shed team as well as musicians and filmmakers from Hackney Empire to create their own short film called ‘Over the Rainbow’.
Letters from the Shed
A pen pal project created by Hackney Shed involving young people from Hackney writing to older people from Westminster who are living with dementia.
A new intergenerational creative exchange. There's nothing quite like receiving a letter from a friend.
