Hackney Shed Slam is a monologue competition!
Every Autumn we work with Year 9 and 10 students from five schools in Hackney and surrounding boroughs. The students prepare monologues, and each school hosts their own preliminary rounds to choose two finalists. Throughout, the Hackney Shed team offer free workshops to support and encourage the young performers.
PERFORMANCE DAY
On the final day, all 10 finalists come together to perform their monologues to an audience of friends and family as well as a panel of judges from the industry.
PRIZES
Previous prizes have been kindly donated by Hackney Empire, Castle Cinema, Pages of Hackney bookshop, Yard Sale Pizza Clapton and Plonk Crazy Golf.
